Narada: Oh ! Thanks for hearing me, oh ! mahavishnu, i am singing your name every second

Fire Down Below

Fire Down Below
Fire Down Below (1997)

IMDB rating: 4.30

Plot: EPA agent Jack Taggart is Stunned to hear from his boss Phil Pratt that his best friend and fellow agent Frank Elkins has been found dead in Kentucky after Frank’s truck plunged into a river. The Kentucky State Police believes that it was an accident, but the EPA believes it was no accident. It all began with an anonymous letter from the small town of Jackson, Kentucky. Frank was sent to Jackson to investigate what the letter described as some kind of pollution that is causing fish to die and causing people to get sick enough to die. Frank sent back water and soil samples that all tested off the charts for toxic substances. After Frank discovered that the Hanner Coal Company, owned by Orin Hanner Sr., is being paid to dump toxic waste into an abandoned coal mine shaft, Frank ended up dead. Jack is assigned to go to Jackson, where his contact will be Reverend Bob Goodall, who runs a church in Jackson. After arriving in Jackson, Jack finds out that he’ll be staying in a room in the church’s basement, and as Jack’s contact, of course Bob knows that Jack will be going undercover as a carpenter. Jack begins by repairing the roof at a house where he meets Henry Carr, his wife, and his kids Edie, Alberta, Christine, and Walter. Walter is sick because of the pollution. That night, Hanner’s son Orin Hanner Jr., also known as Junior, spies on the church along with corrupt Sheriff Lloyd, who is on Hanner’s payroll. On the next day, when Jack goes into downtown Jackson, he meets Betsy Hamill and her twin sister Patsy Hamill. Jack then walks down the street and introduces himself to Cotton Harry. Then Jack takes some water samples. At church on Sunday, Bob introduces Jack to everyone, and tells everyone that Jack is a carpenter. During lunchtime at the church, Jack introduces himself to Sarah Kellogg, a local outcast who is a beekeeper. Sarah has a brother named Earl. Jack goes to Sarah’s house and offers to repair the steps on her front porch. Over time, Jack comes to believe that something is bothering Sarah, and it’s something dark. Jack wants to save her from whatever it is, while trying to bring Hanner and his crew down.

Major Car Title Problems?
ok, long story but I really need help with this. I bought a car and kept it for about 2 months (roughly) and I didn’t know this, but I sold it by signing it off to someone else on the line below (the line below where it had been signed over to me). Later we acknowledged that it had to first be registed to me, and then I could sign it over to him so we both went down to the county clerk office and he paid to have it signed over to me… Only problem was is that we were going to use his address. (Trust issues) When the title got to him he would bring it to me and let me sign it over to him then. Well, him and my old manager got fired, and I got transfed to another store. Needless to say the car is still legally in my name.. How do I track him down (cause I only know his first name) to get my car back or sign over the title to him so I won’t have any more attatment to the car. Obviously I don’t know his addess either.

This film explores the creation of the character and his subsequent evolution over the decades through various media. With various interviews of noted creative luminaries, the film shows how the character has adapted to the times and bounced back from times when he felt irrelevant to always regain his prominence as one of the great heroes of popular culture.

In the 'Superman' documentary, all living characters of the genre are interviewed except Tom Welling. Why?
In the documentary, "Look, up in the sky!: The amazing story of Superman", all living characters involved with the genre are interviewed except Tom Welling – who is the star of TV’s hit show, ‘Smallville’. Tom Welling has been a major contribution to the genre, and is a major celebrity still living. Why was he not involved? Did he refuse, or was he ignored? Or did other schedules conflict?

that is a pretty glaring omission. I haven’t saw it. was this the same show I saw on a&e a few months ago narrated by kevin spacey? it seems like there were 2 shows like that, one on a&e the other on discovery channel and I’m pretty sure I saw tom welling in one of them.
surely he wouldn’t refuse, and it wouldn’t take that long to get some clips so schedule conflict should be out. maybe he wasn’t because technically he isn’t superman yet.
but I’m sure I have saw him on some superman/superhero doc where he was talking about meeting christoper reeve in that one episode and his(tom’s) part in the grand scheme of things.
I’ll have to rent it

Although this is a hard one, I actually think they picked right on this one. That rape scene with Jodie Foster..I liked that her character wasn’t necessarily super-likeable. She had issues for sure, but you wanted her to get justice.

Saudi Laws: Which is more acceptable to Allah?
1. A wealthy person slays another Saudi in anger. He bestows the price of 100 camels. Do any of the camels go to the widow of the deceased?

2. A Saudi kills a person in secret and is never caught, but repents several years later in grief at what he has done. He takes his own life by poisoning himself in the desert after praying for mercy and compassion?

3, A poor man does not have 100 camels, but accidentally ran over a Prince’s son who darted into the street while he turned to check the items on the back seat of the rented car? He serves many years in prson, is tortured by bribed guards, and finally dies there.

4. A man kidnaps the daughter of a foreigner and she becomes his wife. This is not discovered until many years later, when she has five children, the eldest is 27. How many camels, and must she be restored to her family? What is the compensation or penalty and how is it bestowed?

5. A wealthy person commits a crime of vengeance against a respected merchant’s premises. The building of the merchant falls down in consequence onto a group of foreigners killing them. One is Chinese, one Indonesian, one American. Also a French woman and her husband, who is Italian. Three Saudis who are with the foreigners are killed. How many camels for each? Which foreigners are worth the most or the least camels? The son of one of the Saudi drivers killed recovers. Does he receive the camels paid for his father’s death?

Do any of these camels go to the State? Are they taxed?

Does Allah use His judgment or Saudi Law in considering this matter?

Who is least and most acceptable to Allah here?

What if one of victims of the wealthy does not wish to accept the camels as retribution for the killing of their family member? Does the extremely wealthy Saudi pay the poor man’s penalty?

Is everyone equal before the law with respect to camels as retribution?

If they are not equal, is this form of retribution haram to Allah?

Are 100 camels equal to a kidnapping?

What does a poor family do with 100 camels, or can they receive the monetary equivalent?

Did this law originate in a legislature?

Is the originator of this law haram or holy?

What about the judges who decide the case? Are they safe it is discovered later that Allah is not pleased?

Or will all be displeasing to Allah, but some more so? If so, which ones incur the least favor?

Can an Iranian who commits murder there pay with 100 camels?

This is one of the problems that arise when you have a a faith-based government.

This would probably fit better in the Ramadan section.
Abdul-Jabaar | Feb 11, 2010

Only God knows. All we know comes from the Quran. Frankly, I think these scenerios are a bit outdated. I don’t believe many people in Saudi Arabia still use camels this much or any of that. Also, Islam isn’t all about mathematics and division of properties. It is mentioned but that isn’t central to the religion. Islam is a way of life, the Quran is our guide which we must use to become a good person. So if a person truly followed the religion closely, he would let his anger overtake him and kill someone (that’s a sign of serious anger problem), kidnap a girl and force her to marry him, or any of that. Tax is not mentioned in the Quran, to the best of my knowledge. Saudi laws are not the best example of Islam. For example women are not allowed to drive when according to the religion, parents must teach their children to swim and ride horses (today that can mean driving). Girls are not excluded from this.

Are 100 camels equal to a kidnapping?
My answer: Only God knows for sure. He’s the one that will judge the person on Judgment Day. But in my opinion, it depends. Allah knows our intentions and thoughts and secrets. If the man did not feel remorse for the kidnapping and did not care to repent, I doubt it matters how much gold or camels he gives. If he sincerely felt remorse and wanted to change, maybe God may forgive him.

All of which I’ve already said can be applied to your other questions. I recommend you read the Quran thoroughly and carefully if you haven’t already to familiarize yourself better with the religion. It’s not meant to make things complicated.

1. Killing is always wrong. He should repent and try to make sure that the widow doesn’t go into poverty if her husband was the only one making good money. Of course it would be good if he gave her camels.

How does one get into the animation field?
I want to be able to create my own cartoons eventually. I love the unique worlds such as Cowboy Bebop, or Aeon Flux… and I want to know how to get a job like that.

I graduated from art college several years ago. AAC in the bayarea. If you don’t know anyone who’s in animation field, you can try to present your idea and art work to the teachers in art school. Most of teachers in my school are not professional educator but professional artist. Such as most teachers who is teaching animation may from the big film company. Some of them fly from LA to give us class everyweek.
I thought you may start from their if you go some good stuff. But if you really got some great stuff, be careful with who you deal with. We had sign the contract that all our works belong to school when we were. I have known there some teachers keep student’s idea become their own…

Be consistant do not drift in to other things in that area
You can professionalize abything if you just keep on keeping on!

how do you enjoy the full moon?
I wrap my kids up in blankets outside and make up moon stories. hilarious when they go ..yeah right dad!

My dad would wake me up with come see the moon and tell me tales of sputnik and the man on the moon and how people used to think it was actually made out of cheese. Now i teach my kids those stories and thanks to nightskygirl’s telescope expertise i ordered a couple of 6 inch made for kids orion telescopes and teach them about the craters of the moon.

I told them Abbott & Costello are still on Mars and they believed me!

Full Moon is the night which i called "Lucky Night"

The former athlete is left with a brain injury that prevents him from remembering many things for extended periods of time. To compensate, he keeps notes in a small notebook to aid him in remembering what he is to do. He also lives with a blind friend (Jeff Daniels) who aids him. Obviously, with the mental incapacitation, he is unable to have meaningful work. Thus he works as a night cleaning man in a bank. It is there he comes under the scrutiny of a gang planning to rob the bank. The leader (Matthew Goode) befriends him and gets him involved with a young woman (Isla Fisher) who further reels him in. After they get close and after reeling him in with his own failures, the bank plan unfolds. Confused but wanting to escape his current existence, he initially goes along with the scheme. After realizing he is being used, he attempts to stop the robbery, which of course immediately goes awry.
