Plot: In 1964, a brash new pro boxer, fresh from his olympic gold medal victory, explodes on to the scene, Cassius Clay. Bold and outspoken, he cuts an entirely new image for African American’s in sport with his proud public self confidence with his unapologetic belief that he is the greatest boxer of all time. To his credit, he sets out to prove that with his highly agile and forceful style soon making him a formidable boxer who soon claims the heavyweight championship. His personal life is no less noteworthy with his allegiance to the Nation of Islam, his friendship with the controversial Malcolm X and his abandonment of his slave name in favour of Muhammad Ali stirring up controversy. Yet, at the top of his game, both Ali’s personal and professional lives face the ultimate test with the military draft rules are changed, making him eligible for military induction during the Vietnam War. Despite the fact that he could easily agree to a sweetheart deal that would have meant an easy tour of duty for himself, Ali refuses to submit on principle to cooperate in an unjust war for a racist nation that treated his people so poorly. The cost of that stand is high as he finds himself unable to legally box in his own country while his case is contested in court. What follows is a battle for a man who would sacrifice so much for what he believes in and a comeback that would cement his legend as one of the great sports figures of all time.

They have to have a villain, even if it’s make-believe. Before muslims it was Russians, how many movies did you see with wicked Russians in? And I’m sure most of them are nice people. But the media like to brain-wash people. Most think that seeing is believing, so they believe what they see on paper.
How about the pregnant muslim lady stabbed 18 times in court because she wore a scarf in Germany? How publicised was that in comparison to an opposite story of a muslim killing someone? Media really is one-sided.

Because they fear of Islam. And they fear because they do not understand Islam. And most of them never know any Muslims personally.
And of course to manipulate people’s ignorance a lot of time can serve some political purposes. George Bush was very successful in creating a sense of insecurity as a political capital.
Many western media did not project the correct perspective that terrorism and extremist actions are not an equal sign to Islam. And they never explain enough that those are a very small minority of the Muslims (or people use Islam as a political excuse, like bin Laden). And the word of Jihad was so frequently being misunstood as an irrational revenge.
It is always easy to point finger to others, but the true solution is to truly understand the others and also ask questions to ourselves. Without understand and fairness the world will never be at peace.

This is a very sensitive question to many Muslims. They feel that they are under constant attack by the western media.
As someone who was born and raised in a Muslim country to Muslim parents and having read a lot about Islam, I believe that the situation is very complicated. I will try to explain it in a simple and objective way in the follwing points:
1. The Koran and the Hadith are as confusing and contradictory as any other religious text. Muslims try to convince themselves that this isn’t true… truth is too much for them to bear.
2. There are verses from the Koran and Hadiths that preach peace and forgiveness…
3. There are as many that preach violence, hatred and suspicience for Jews and other "infidels"…
4. As any other religion, there are those who are peace loving (the majority) who like to see their religion as so and they use the first set of texts. But there are those who r CRAZY (a minority) who use the second set of texts to justify their crimes.
5. The problem in this situation is that the first set of Muslims (the good guys) refuse to accept the fact that their is a systemic problem in Islam that causes these fanatics to use the Koran and Hadith to justify their crimes. The "good" Muslims are still not able to challenge the idea that Islam is deficient in many aspects…. They insist that the Koran is divine and that there are no contradictions in it or in the Hadith. Some of them are so ridiculous they blame everything wrong done in the name of Islam on the Jews…. 9/11 is one. The funniest of all is that the recent problems between Algeria and Egypt (because of a football match!!!) was also blamed on the Jews who supposedly control the media in Algeria…. But almost all Algerian jews fled Algeria after its independence and the last ones left during the recent civil war…
Muslims must wake up and get real and see their religion as a culture that could be criticized. As long as Muslims don’t do so, the west will do it for them.
