What are your thoughts on "Paranormal Activity"?
I just watched the movie last night, though it was the original ending (I guess Stephen Speilburg didn’t like it so they changed the ending which I have not seen yet). But after watching the movie I feel like it is an instant classic. I hate the way horror films now a days focus so much on mass killers gutting everyone in the movie. That to me isn’t scary. This movie really creeped me out because all of this stuff is from a kind of subjective camera (home video) and the sounds of the footsteps, and just the idea that this stuff mostly goes on while they are asleep didn’t really sit well with me. Granted I only saw the original ending and I’ve heard that they remade ending is much better, I still thought the original ending was very disturbing. Her standing for hours looking at Micah and the footsteps coming back up the stairs, and the swaying while sitting at the foot of the bed for almost 24 hrs. The scened that really got me was the "dragging" scene, which I thought was awesome. I really think that this movie went back to the old school horror movie which I feel are the only true horror movies (i.e. the Excorcist, Poltergeist, the Haunting, etc.) I think this movie was by far one of the best I’ve seen and def. worthy of being mentioned with the three I mentioned. The movie scares the crap out of you, while you never really see anything (meaning a monster or something like that). I think that is the best thing about this movie. I was laying in bed last night and couldn’t stop thinking about it, and that right there tells me I watched a good one.
What are your thoughts on the movie? It seems like people either thought is was the dumbest movie ever (probably the ppl who are into the slasher films filled with blood) or those like me who thought it was one of the scariest movies they’ve ever seen.
Also Psycho i think is in the list of the top horror films of all time…the Alfred Hitchcock verson, not that crap that Gus Van Sant recreated.
Dumbest I have ever seen. I want my money back.

OMG. this movie horrified me. they did a really good job with the suspense factor of it. every night the entire theatre was scared, wondering what would happen, and when the time @ night stopped, you knew something crazy was going to happen. I wasnt a big fan of when the ghost dude came back, it was horrible acting. other than that it was a great movie, the footsteps \|/ really creepped me out, and the last seen when mica goes flying into the wall. great movie for $15000 production cost. one of the scariest ive seen.

Actually I thought it was original. It wasn’t scary when you watch it. When you get ready for bed, however, you might not be able to sleep.

Before the movie came out, hollywood made it out to be the most scariest movie ever! But was it really? No i dont think so. They dug so far in peoples head that this was scary so after watching it you would think that it was. I personally didnt think it was that scary, it had its moments but people are different. i like watching those type of movies like that..i watch ghost hunter and enjoy them. Dont get me wrong the movie was good but sometimes it had me thinking why am i watching this because it got boring in some parts.

It had it moments. I liked it, but there were too many flaws. The ending was the worst aspect of the film (made the film feel corny and unoriginal).
It needs:
-more scares
-better ending
-more plausible character motivations
I’m very biased because I’ma horror buff and I’ve seen it all. It’s worth a viewing.

I LOVE scary movies and I watch them all the time, but most of them don’t scare me. This one did. I was up all night SO scared. I like how it seemed so realistic. I hate movies like Freddie or Halloween. They’re so dumb. But this movie was terrifying. I remember wishing while i was at the movie that i had never come to see it because i would have to go back to my apartment alone. hahah
